We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic backend engineer to join our Digital Platform team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fastpaced environment and contribute to the development of the backbone for our digital experiences.

You will join a cross functional team that is building an application using a modern technology stack with technologies and tools like AWS, Kubernetes, GraphQL, Docker, MongoDB, Java and more. You will work closely on the development of the component servicing our customer facing portals. Our services are aimed at gaining and retaining our customers’ trust. You can be part of the development efforts ensuring future readiness and delivering a reliable, high-quality platform.

You make sure the cloud resources are well designed, optimized, and scalable
You write clear, efficient, and optimized code
Develop and maintain our data application using AWS, K8s, Java, MongoDB and GraphQL
You make sure deployment of increments are tested and automated trough CI/CD pipelines
High security standards are embedded in your work, building and maintaining automated test frameworks
Collaborate with the developers of the teams that work on our customer facing portals to en-sure the seamless integration of our platforms

You know how to work in an Agile environment where collaboration and continuous improvements are the foundations. Additionally, you possess:

5+ years of experience building microservices and applications using Java, MongoDB, Docker, GraphQL and the AWS platform (e.g. K8s, Terraform, SQS, SNS, Helm, etc)
A passion for automating and implementing recurring tasks, testing, and security in CI/CD sys-tems, a DevOps mindset and knowledge about software architectures
Strong knowledge on the concepts of pipeline development
Proficient in both Dutch and English

You will be joining the Platform team which is one of the NN Pensions Digital teams. The team is responsible for enabling our portals by providing data from different parts of the company in a sanitized, high availability and high performing solution. They also ensure that AWS Platform products like K8s as a commodity to other teams. It is a team with very enthusiastic developers and are really looking forward to meeting you.

At NN we work hybrid. We combine working from home and working in the office. Teams can meet online or in person. You and your team agree on what suits you best. We have set up our offices in such a way that there is a suitable place for every type of work. The official location for this job is Rotterdam.
